When I was in Pattaya I met a beer-bar girl who works at a beauty salon in the day and bar at night. She is 25 and has a 4 year old daughter. She is very beautiful and nice. Hi all, here is a reoprt from a newbe. I stayed at the JW Marriott in BKK and the place was great. Great location and very guest friendly. hotel staff and guests visit with each other and never was I charged or was any id required. As for go-gos, I liked NEP better than soi cowboy and better than pattaya. I went to casanovas and saw Kel who is evenmore beautiful than her pics and a LB named Annie, who is not on this site. But the two cheated me and so I never took them out again. The new year water festiful was nice, but I wish it was only for one day. Instead, I got it both in BKK and Patttaya. It made the drive from BKK to Pattaya 5 1/2 hours long. My best luck for a genetic girl in BKK came from a budget fishbowl named Happy House on soi 1. Very beautiful 85 lb girl at age 20 for 24 hours for 3000. Lower price if you pay for more days. I highly recomend this place. In PATTAYA I enjoyed the beach road the best. It's always a good show. In Pattaya I stayed at the Marriott and the location was great. Business is now the slowest it has ever been.
I was there two weeks ago around Songkron and it was slow then. But now that the holiday is over, it is DEAD.
I have been getting lots of emails from my friends there, all telling me no customers, no business. In pattaya places like Mr. Shrimp are laying off the hostesess.

So go now, don't worry about SARS..its a non-issue in Thailand (just don't fly thru HK or Singapore).

I had yesterday a dinner with a group of friends doing business here in Thailand and some of their Thai partners at the very fancy new restaurant "87" in the Conrad hotel. (Food excellent, but boring people). I was paralized in a way, although I know that Thais think like that I never heard it so explicitly and with such emotions and I think if you've asked those people they would think of themselves as liberal and open minded. So not one of those hard-core right wing Thai military society. That showed me what those who don't live from this indutry really think of us and it showed me that Thaksin will win on the long run and that Thailand sooner or later will become a second fucking Singapore. And if that's the case, I've to look for another place - maybe Cambodia, when I read Jon's report - because that's a world I really don't wanna live in!

Freeman Disco at Silom, between Soi 2 and Thanya, is since years one of my favorite hunting grounds in BKK. Why? Because it has a daily midnight cabaret show, which's in my opinion the best in town and attracts a crowd of people - mainly Thais - everyday. Just back from 5 days in Bangkok...first daylight I have seen since Thursday!

Stayed at the Royal Asia Lodge on Sukhumvit Soi 8. It is at the opposite end of Soi 8 to Sukumvit, so you are away from the noise of the main road. The hotel runs a free tuk tuk service 24 hours a day to get you into the action.
Great little place, highly recommend it. 890 Baht without breakfast, no hassle taking girls of lb's back, staff could not have been friendlier.

IN MY OPINION anyway...the best or should I say my favorite would have to be Sally's Bar, Soi 5, Jomtien Beach.
They don't playing that blaring techno crap music at about 100 times louder than necessary like every other LB bar that I've been to seems to do. They play real music, mostly 70s era rock, which is real music to me. It is loud enough to hear it clearly but not so loud that you have to scream to talk to anyone and have them hear you.
They have a small group of ladyboys with a few GGs mixed in, about 15 total. But a couple of the LBs are very hot and would rank high on any list IMO. Most of the rest are certainly above average. One of the most beautiful ladyboys on this site is supposedly soon to be working there, after she returns to the area from her home in NKP. If she does I'll post her name and say that it happened. We took her there for a visit, she talked to many of the girls and found out that 4 of Sally's girls are also from NKP. This made her feel very much at ease and she befriended several of the girls. I mentioned to both Tim and Sally that she would like to work there and Sally said she was welcome to when she came back from her 2 week trip back home.

You don't get mobbed by 5-6 LBs the moment that you walk in like in most other bars. You can sit down, relax, check things out at your leisure and then select your companion for the evening.
They also have a pool table, which is not common in LB bars in my experience, and some of the LBs like to shoot pool which gives one an option when it comes to passing the time rather than just sitting and drinking.
Sally and her boyfriend Tim are both VERY nice. The girls all say she is the best boss they've ever had when working in a bar and she treats them all great.

Sally used to work at KC3 a few years ago, which is where she and Tim met. Tim is an ex Hell's Angel biker dude from England and he is very cool. He gave me a couple of tours through some of the unsung areas of Jomtien and Pattaya too and I met some hotties at those times.
The bar fines are low, at 300 baht and they give half of that back to the girl, which I do not think is a regular practice among bars.
People are friendly there. I notice that in my travels around Thailand that most other tourists and/or expats do not seem very friendly or want to even give the time of day to another tourist. They are all in their own little world I guess. I'm not used to this type of attitude and find it quite perplexing as compared to how it is where I live in the world.

The regular customers at Sally's are basically a sociable bunch, which is also a plus to me.
One of the regular guys that is super cool is the owner of Moose Divers, also on Soi 5, if anyone going there might also be interested in doing some scuba diving during the day. He is a Swedish fellow that has been there for about 7 years I think. If you go there by taxi, you'll get off at the front of the Soi and Sally's is near the end. You'll walk past Moose Divers near the front way before you get to Sally's.

So, those are some of the reasons why Sally's will always be the place I go to regularly anytime I am in the Pattaya/Jomtien Beach area...and why it is to me the best LB bar in Thailand and my favorite one.
